About
Thanks for coming by to check out a blend of content on all things information (written, visual, audible) that sometimes borders on serious.
This is the career weblog of Jeff Bean of San Diego-based Marketing Bean.
My aim is relevant content for corporate marketers and business owners faced with incredible noise in deciding how they go to market for their companies.
As a journalist-turned-pr-practitioner-turned-marketer, I love the intersection of culture and technology. I’m not a tech geek, but do have a few preferred tools and programs. I’m forever fascinated with the mind and how it perceives messages.
I’ve worked in newsrooms of the Los Angeles Times and Associated Press. I’ve sat through kick-off meetings with high-dollar creative firms. I’ve lived through irrational exuberance and several VC rounds. And I’ve evangelized new technology backed by some of the biggest names in telecom and Wall Street.
I won’t post for the sake of it. I’ll try to stake out a position and provide my rationale. I encourage you to ping me with questions. Or praise a post. Or criticize. Or condemn (with civility). For fun, I keep a tumblr-like personal weblog over here with photography, cycling and other “non-work” related stuff.
If you come across something in your RSS feeds or del.icio.us bookmarks that you’d like to share, please by all means.
I will do the same.
Thanks,
-JB

Joe,
It was amazing to watch you work.
If that opportunity comes again, I’ll be lucky in life twice. Keeping an eye on your calendar on the off-chance you’re in San Diego again.
Thanks so much for sharing those two days!
-Jeff
