Did the tech press and bloggers doubt that Nokia, the number one cellphone maker in the world, would come up short on its latest smartphone? Lots of technical muscle, for sure.
Yes, Apple’s iPhone is synonomous with hip, intuitive user experience, not to mention a selection of optional applications already a year ahead of the competition.
But this little intro video that is part of today’s Nokia N97 launch immediately helps differentiate the device. Perhaps it’s the color: an egg-shell sort of white. Definitely more attractive than the T-Mobile G1 powered by Google Android.
The color white, used so effectively by Apple, comes back around with Nokia.
And it gets a bit harder to recognize chroma signatures for major brands. For example, have you noticed the keyboard and screen treatment for the new MacBooks look like last year’s HP Pavilions?
Is black the new white? Or will white again become the new black?
