Seth Godin, popular blogger, author and guru of marketing, is striking the word “just” from his vocabulary. Same for “sort of.”
We get into habits. We use certain words more than others. “Just” is not that bad (when used sparingly). There’s no harm in it. Seth wants to use it less.
Imagine if Nike had taken the same tact. Just Do It becomes Do It.
Now, here’s where I think we could use some language clean-up in the world of business and news:

Perfect Storm (tired stand-in for several things happening at once to create something bad)

It’s about … blank (an attempt to pinpoint pure meaning of something that doesn’t have pure meaning)

Interesting (is almost everything is interesting to somebody? I use this word too often)
