Everything Old is New Again

If you drive a Corvette and play TaylorMade Tour Preferred (TP) golf clubs you may have a deja vu moment when popping the back lid of your sports car.

It’s the brand badges. They have similarities.

Fast cars and golf clubs. What do they share in common?

Although the TaylorMade TP logo is much closer to the original Corvette logo than the newer version of the Corvette logo, the message sent is unmistakable: Golf’s no longer a good walk spoiled, as Mark Twain said. Golf can also be speed (think 300-year drives) and great handling (wrenches and weight-tuned cartridges to promote a draw or hook).

24 Hours at LeMans inspiration? NASCAR an influence? Check golf driver head covers and golf bags. Bright colors, including a bold yellow that isn’t quite the Home Depot orange of Tony Stewart’s race car but close.

Golf with an attitude (especially drivers), courtesty of a brand signal of an American high-performance icon.

Coincidence?
