Kindle Online Community Outcry

A scan of the Amazon website tonight shows a steady flow of spirited comments in the Kindle forum. While some posts condemn Amazon for the Kindle shortage (4-6 week delivery from time of order), others defend the company, which has made a great business by providing prompt and accurate service.

Once you’ve become accustomed 2-day book delivery, waiting a month or more for a wireless device that can download a book in a few minutes feels un-Amazon.

Manufacturing products is tougher than simply warehousing and shipping them.

Here are a few more theories on why Amazon can’t meet Kindle demand. And this thorough take on Kindle over at Compete explains some of the other traffic benefits for Amazon since the product launch.

  • Yo Bean! ‘Sup dog?

    Thanks for the link love!

(Sorry, I don’t normally talk like that, but I just saw the “Hit Me on My iPhone” YouTube video and loved it.

Do you have a Kindle? I remain seriously tempted, but unfulfilled.

    Cheers,

  • Hi Bob,

Wish I had the ability to try one out — or knew someone who has one.

I remain in love in with books and the ability to scribble in the margins or dogear pages from corners both top and bottom.

Funny thing, the only time I crave a Kindle is when I want to buy a book asap. I test drove the Sony equivalent of Kindle. Just didn’t feel right.

No worries on the dialect my man! Keep writing. I’ve signed up for RSS. Very interested in SaaS.
